SWITCHING TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM AND D2L

Hello, Grade 9's! We hope your weekend went well.

As of this week (April 6-9), we will officially begin our online classes. The Math/Science classes will be run through Brightspace by D2L, and the Humanities classes will be on Google Classroom. This means that your teachers' blog pages will no longer be updated, and you must go to these new platforms to access your lessons for each week.

Please check your teachers' blog pages for instructions on how to access these platforms, and if you need help, make sure to shoot them an email.

We can do this, HDC!

Yearbook Quotes Grade 9 Nines--Time Sensitive!

Hi everybody,

We hope you all are feeling well & your families are healthy too.  We will be connecting by phone at some point today--so looking forward to hearing your voices!

In the meantime, we have an urgent request concerning our yearbook!  Ms Robillard needs a personal quote or HDC memory from you to include in the yearbook.

Please see below:

Criteria includes:
-must be appropriate language and content
-no more than 50 characters in length, including spaces and punctuation
-try NOT to focus on the COVID 19 issue as it will be addressed formally in the yearbook already, but focus more on the things you want to remember HDC for

-submit the quote including their name to clrobillard@educbe.ca by Wednesday April 1st (no fooling!)

-it is optional but the deadline is firm
**Ms Robillard has the right to edit or remove any content that is not appropriate**

Can you also send any photos that Ms Robillard might be able to use in the yearbook of things that happened at school?

Complementary Course Switch Requests

Starting today (Friday),  Ms. MacDonald will be opening up a brief window for the possibility of complementary course change requests for Semester 2.

Ms. MacDonald will only be able to accept your request if:
1. If there's room in the class
2. The class is a good fit for you & you are a good fit for the class; and
3. If she can do a direct swap of students (someone has to LEAVE the class you want to enter)

Additional info:
-The window for requests will be open Friday-Wednesday (Jan 29) end of day. Forms will be in the office starting Friday morning
-If you don't hear from Ms. MacDonald, it means she is unable to make the switch happen for you
-She will call down students next week if she is able to meet your request or if she wants to discuss your request further with you

You should NOT be filling in course change requests during class time. You can pick it up at lunch or after/before school.
